Night cruising at East Coast McDonalds on 8th December 2007

We are having the monthly old-school BMX meeting at East Coast McDonalds on the 8th of December 2007. Come one, come all! We will be meeting up at 2130hrs onwards. Bring your old-school bike down and let us relive the days of old when life was so much simpler, and so were the bikes!

Yup. He did us proud by winning the Animal Clothing stunt show on Saturday and Sunday. Congrats man!

Shimano DX cranks

These babies were adjustable from 175mm to 180mm. These DX cranks also came with a splined spindle and were tough. I would take these over the new DXRs anyday

RIP Evel Knievel

I had a shock when I received a call from one of my friends. Legendary stuntman Robert "Evel" Knievel passed away. He was 69 years old. This man is an inspiration to many a BMXer out there who tried to emulate him in the tricks they did. Hoffman Bikes even had a signature bike dedicated to him. He is in heaven now, with no more suffering. RIP Evel. You will be sorely missed by all the BMXers.

Jim Rienstra's Aspire

One of the reasons why I like BMX so much is that we were one of the first extreme sports on two wheels, way before any mountainbikers started getting serious with their bikes. Check out what some of these guys can do, on bikes with no suspension. Respect.

The Youth Olympics and Singapore

BMX-wise, do you think we can host it? According to a news report, it is said that "Singapore said it has the right software and enough facilities to put up a good show"

That being said, bicycle motocross or BMX for short. We have been lobbying with the powers that be for almost ten years to bring up BMX in Singapore and we have received little or no help. Only recently, some little trickles have been flowing in. Why? Because BMX is now an Olympic sport.

Back to the question. can we host it? Maybe for other sports but for BMX? What has the SSC done to help us BMX-wise? Have they seen our track? And they want to hold the Youth Olympics here? That is pretty much a rhetorical question.

Shimano DXR cranks

After running chromoly cranks for years, I will shudder if i ever have to put these on my bike. I am thankful though that Shimano has BMXers in mind when they made this DXR crankset and DXR gruppo. They are pretty pricey though but to the weight-weenie BMXer today, they will will suffice. Not me though. After having broken a pair of aluminium cranks in the past, chromoly is all I trust

I was at this downhill race in January 2003. Raining cats and dogs it was. Was just there to literally "chill" with some friends and was asked to do announcements. Bloody hell. cannot escape my MC past...

The Kuwahara site

Some time ago, a pal of mine back in the US named Michael Ringseis decided to make a site honouring the Kuwahara bikes of the past. We called the site simply The Kuwahara Site. With the help of some old-schoolers here in Singapore like Jerry Yeow and some others, the site was created and we put lots of information on the site. Check it out and see what you think!
