Wellgo pedals

There are lots of pedals out there in the market that one can use for BMX. Even thought lots of BMX racers swear by clipless pedals, the flat pedal is what most ordinary folk like you and me can use to pedal our bikes for all-around usage. I wish Shimano was still making their DX pedals from back in the day. The closes I have come to getting a pair of pedals that are like the Shimano DX are the wellgo pedals that are made in Taiwan. They are relatively easy to find and are inexepensive. Most bikeshops should have them in stock. Use them and abuse them. Good value for money.

The alternative to Shimano DXRs

Some people swear by the Shimano DXR cranks for racing, despite cheaper offerings by other crank makers. I do not know about the rest of you but these Shimano DXR cranks are way over-priced. For those of you who insist on using aluminium cranks, use these. They are Primo Powerbite cranks. They are cheaper than the DXRs and I dare say stronger. Plus you can have the flexibility of using chainwheels, unlike the Shimano DXR

These babies were adjustable from 175mm to 180mm. These DX cranks also came with a splined spindle and were tough. I would take these over the new DXRs anyday

After running chromoly cranks for years, I will shudder if i ever have to put these on my bike. I am thankful though that Shimano has BMXers in mind when they made this DXR crankset and DXR gruppo. They are pretty pricey though but to the weight-weenie BMXer today, they will will suffice. Not me though. After having broken a pair of aluminium cranks in the past, chromoly is all I trust
