Elevn Technologies stems

I still have my DK stem from many years ago. This stem is still functioning nicely and I do not think I need to change it. DK used to be THEE company to turn to when it came to BMX stems, along with Pro-Neck and Tuf-Neck and even Nitto, for us guys in Asia. But there are new guys in the market now...there always have been.

Looks like the boys down at Elevn Technologies are no slouches when it comes to new BMX product. According to BMX News, this is the stem that they have produced. Looks like they are getting more product in the market. The specs are:

That is in US dollars for you guys. Not cheap but I dare say that this stem would be great.

Broken DK frame

Someone called my attention to this video because he knew that I used to ride a DK BMX bike in the past. Looks like this DK bike broke into three pieces at a racetrack in Australia. All I can say is: holy crap! I think back to the days when Robbie Miranda jumped ten cars on a DK Legend (the very same bike I used) and the frame was intact. DK seriously needs to look at this as it seems to be some kind of manufacturing defect

DK Sentry 24" BMX

Checked out the DK site today and came across thie beautiful DK Sentry. Comes with a 21" top-tube and an aluminium frame. The best about this bike is that it come with 4130 chromoly cranks instead of that aluminium stuff that comes with the other bikes. This bike looks bad-ass! I wonder if I can get this into my stable of bikes without overcrowding it?

The DK Bicycles Alpha Line

According to Dig Magazine, DK Bikes is coming out with the Alpha Line. This is something similar to Haro when they came up with their Premium Products line. DK has some new stems, sprockets and seat-clamps from this line. You can check it out at DKBicycles.com

DK BMX stem

There are lots of quality BMX stems on the market. Some are good, some are even better and some in my opinion, are simply the best. DK fits in there with the best. The reason? they have been making quality stems for over 30 years. Now if that is not a track record, I do not know what is. Many professional BMX racers and freestylers back in the day used DK stems because they were , as describe in an advertisement once, "Strong, light, EXCELLENT!" I know this because I use one as well. I do not work for DK if anyone is wondering. I just happen to be a fan of their offerings. DK stems are a worthwhile investment

My DK Legend

Somewhere in the year 2000 when I got back into BMX after a 15-year hiatus, I bought the best bike that money could buy and it was the DK Legend. Robbie Miranda had jumped over 10 cars with it and it was pretty much OK even after a bad fall. So I thought to myself, why not? If that bike could take a bail like that, it should be no problem carrying an overweight guy like me. Over the years, it has served as a wonderful companion till I sold off the frame and fork last year. It was indeed sad to lose it as we had gone through a lot together but it went to a person who would make better use of it than I would. This bike won the Vans Triple Crown in 2000. It is truly a Legend.
