BMX perfection

There was a trainer from New Zealand here in Singapore last week, giving BMX lessons and pointers to the riders. I think that is a step in the right direction, however, there are caveats. In order to perfect your BMX style, you need to be more disciplined. Tips and tricks can only help you so much. You also need to practice what you have learnt. And not only that, you need to build up your fitness. If you do not do that, all the tips and tricks you learnt will come down to nothing. Back in the day, we used to train by running up stairs in the HDB flats, all the way to the top story and running down again. We had no access to gyms and such. We just rode everywhere we went and took the stairs instead of taking the elevators. We excelled in track and field and once, I even tried to pace my friend who was riding a racer while I was riding my BMX!

BMX. All I can say is that you get out of it what you put into it. If you want to win, you have to strive and pay your dues. Don't just settle for second best...settle for the best.
