ABD / Avanti BMX bikes

I saw this bike at at a bikeshop in Sin Ming yesterday. Looks like there is yet another source of BMX bikes! Their main selling item is this ABD or Avanti BMX Division hailing from New Zealand. Looks like you get a pretty good bike for the money. However, I have reservations about the front wheel, which appears to be radial-laced. I wonder why they chose it to be radial-laced instead of cross-laced. If they say it is to shave weight, that argument does not hold water as the weight saved is fairly insignificant. The hubs look like G-Sport copies, and from what I can see, sport sealed bearings. I did not have a good look at the cranks but they look like Truvativs to me, fairly common on race-bikes nowadays. I am happy to see that they at least have a traditional chromoly steel fork instead of a carbon-fibre fork. Ultimately, looks like a great bike except for that front wheel.
